The EmancipatorQUALITIES OF A GOOD STEWARD
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
— Luke 12:43
Three important qualities a good steward demonstrates are occupation, faithfulness, and profitability. A good steward occupies (Luke 19:13, Luke 12:43). To occupy is to work or be engaged in that which is entrusted to him, to produce a result. The occupation requires that the steward be diligent, hardworking, and willing to take steps of faith to bring the profit required. Secondly, a good steward is faithful (Luke 12:42, 1 Corinthians 4:2). Faithfulness comes from a strong conviction about the calling and reverential fear and love for Yahweh. Faithfulness also comes with persistence and commitment to the same truth to the end. Paul preached daily for two years in Ephesus (Acts 19:9-10) and had the results we are quick to talk about in Acts 19:11-20. Finally, a good steward is profitable. In stewardship there must be a profitability that Dad will recognize for rewards and more trust (Matthew 25:20-21, Matthew 25:28, Luke 12:44).
Dear Lord, I pray that Christians all over the world will be awakened to our stewardship in Christ and awake to fulfil it in Jesus' Name.
