The EmancipatorMASTERING HEARING GOD
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely
— Song of Solomon 2:14
The key to mastering anything is practice. If you just came into being in Christ, you may not hear His voice as perfectly as a matured person does but the good news is that you can perfect your hearing. Practice loving beholding His countenance in fellowship, then like in our opening verse you will get to know His voice with ease. Start inclining your heart to hear Him in fellowship and keep practicing and acting on what you hear, and you will perfect it. As a general guide, if you will believe God's voice is yours (John 10:27), become scriptural in your approach (Psalm 119:105), confident that God will not allow Satan to speak to you (Luke 11:11) and start hearing to do, you will soon become a master at hearing Him (Proverbs 22:29).
Dear Father, I receive grace to continue listening, hearing, and doing Your Word. I can see myself mastering the art of hearing You in Jesus' Name.
