WHAT IS YOUR BODY?

A misunderstanding of Apostle Paul's emphatic expression of spirit, soul and body in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 has resulted in the trichotomisation of the human make-up in our minds for a long time. Yet the Spirit through Apostle Paul was only emphasizing the entirety of the sanctification. This usage is similar to Jesus' in Mark 12:30 yet no one thinks from there, that we are composed of four parts. The challenge then is that people think they are more of spirit than body. Consequently, their bodies are more like their containers. No! That is scripturally incorrect.

What Yahweh calls mankind is a total being of the visible and invisible components that are inseparable (2 Corinthians 4:16, 1 Peter 3:4). According to how Yahweh created you to function, you are only complete as the inward and outward man together (which is spirit, soul and body). That is why without the body, a person ceases to be in this world until he picks his body again in the resurrection. So, what is your body? It is an inseparable part of your being. That is why I prefer to call it, the body part of me or my body-part. Until you think of your body as you do your spirit, you don't really know your body. The sure result is that you will disregard it without knowing and that is how many have lost full function in this world until the resurrection.
