The EmancipatorBELIEVE GOD
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men
— Matthew 15:9
There is a vast difference between believing in God and believing God. The world is full of many who believe in God yet do not believe Him. To believe in God means to believe that God exists. Yet believing in God will neither change anything about Him, you or your life because even demons believe so (James 2:19). On the other hand, to believe God means to take what He says as absolute truth. That is all. When it comes to God's will and its physical manifestation in your life and the world around you, it takes believing God, not just believing in Him. The problem with the people in our verse today was not one of not believing in God, but one of not believing God. They worshipped because they believed in Him, but they switched to human doctrines because they did not believe Him.
Oh Dear Father, from now I do not only believe in You, I choose to believe You in Jesus' Name.
