The EmancipatorIT IS A WORD WASHING
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
— John 15:3
The washing of the Church to unveil our Christness, does not refer to water baptism or ritual washings in rivers, the sea or any of the Old Testament washings in scripture. The substance or 'detergent' for the washing that unveils our Christness is the Word. So, Ephesians 5:26 is very clear and unambiguous about this. It says Jesus is sanctifying and cleansing the church with the washing of water by the word. In our verse today, this was practically demonstrated. The people were purified by the Word He spoke. Having settled on this, let us also clarify that the Word that cleanses the Church is the truth of scripture (John 17:17) not just anything from the Bible. In other words, it must be the Word that is true about the Church of Jesus Christ. Who is the Church? What does he have, and what can he do as the body of Christ? This is what cleanses and unveils his Christness and it is called the Word of His grace (Acts 20:32)
I completely yield my life to the Word of His grace so that I grow thereby through the unveiling of my Christness in Jesus' Name.
