The EmancipatorHOW TO ENJOY YOUR CHILDREN
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward
— Psalms 127:3
To enjoy your children, you must first understand them in relation to God. Who are your children? They are God's heritage and reward, not yours. They are God's dream in little bodies and immature minds. Relate with them, with God in the equation.
Secondly, dispossess the children in your heart. They are not your "property" or future insurance. They are individual people of God just like you, but He entrusted you with being the means of their entrance into this life and the initial guidance till they can stand on their own. This takes away the burden and anxiety of their care and once God's place as their real Father is set, the divine mechanism of trouble-free parenting starts.
Thirdly, celebrate them as the fulfilment of God's Word concerning "your" children. Irrespective of the challenges you may be encountering in bringing them up for God, see them as God's dream in little bodies that are unfolding and you will enjoy them.
Receive the grace to enjoy your child (-ren) in the name of Jesus Christ.
